Watch for Sam's new book Frontier Preacher soon to be published by Granny Apple Publishing, LLC. This story follows the life of John Corbly, who lived from 1733 to 1803. Just like Hossler's two other two books, this is historical fiction with places, events and dates as realistic as the author could research them. Corbly was an Irish immigrant who apprenticed to a Pennsylvania land owner in 1747. He was baptized in 1761 and imprisoned for preaching the Baptist religion in Virginia in 1768. He was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1775 and was a Revolutionary War soldier, chaplain, militiaman, judge, patriot and Indian fighter. His family was killed during the Corbly Family Massacre at Garads Fort in 1782. Corbly was founder and/or co-founder of 30 Baptist churches in Southwestern Pennsylvania and was paster of Goshen Baptist Church and Muddy Creek Baptist Church at Garads Fort from 1771 to 1803. He died at his home in Garads Fort in 1803.
